Located near the center of the UNC-Chapel Hill campus, off the Polk Place quad, Carroll Hall has been the primary home of the Hussman School of Journalism and Media since 1999. The building houses classrooms, labs, offices for faculty and staff, lounge/study spaces, the Freedom Forum Conference Center and the Park Library.
The Curtis Media Center was built adjacent to Carroll Hall and opened in 2022, providing UNC Hussman students and faculty with access to state-of-the-art classroom technology surrounded by wall-height windows looking out on Carolina's picturesque campus. The cutting-edge tech extends to the James F. Goodmon Studio for broadcasting and a separate podcasting studio. The building's lower level is a dedicated "makerspace" for the FashionMash program.
